Portrait of Rachel Kaminsky

Rachel Kaminsky, Scientist

Dr Rachel Kaminsky is a scientist specializing in microbial physiology and microbial ecology. Her research focus is on understanding the physiological roles of rumen bacteria and archaea. Rachel received her PhD in Microbiology from the University of Otago specializing in the microbial ecology of pasture soils. She then worked as a postdoctoral scientist characterizing rumen bacterial isolates at AgResearch before becoming a scientist. Rachel is particularly interested in the use of bioinformatic insights to guide wet lab experiments. At Lucidome Bio she uses her expertise to contribute to bioinformatic analyses of vaccine targets as well as pure culture-based experiments involving methanogen strains.
